Which UiPath certifications exist right now?
UiPath's Academy certification page lists 13 credentials. Developers have two: Automation Developer Associate and Automation Developer Professional. The agentic track has three: Agentic Automation Associate, Agentic Automation Professional and Agentic Automation Builder Professional. Business analysts have Automation Business Analyst Associate and Professional. AI specialists have Specialized AI Associate and Professional.
The rest are Professional-level only: Automation Solution Architect Professional, Test Cloud Architect Professional, and two infrastructure credentials. One infrastructure exam covers Automation Suite on Linux. The other is Standalone, for Windows environments. To earn it you pass two exams (Part 1 and Part 2) that include hands-on, lab-based questions in simulated environments. The newest is Agentic Automation Builder Professional, which UiPath says launched on September 22, 2026. It covers building agents, orchestrating them with UiPath Maestro, and AI-assisted development with UiPath for Coding Agents.
Which one should you take?
If you are starting as an RPA developer, take Automation Developer Associate. Its exam, UiPath-ADAv1, tests Studio, Robots and Orchestrator, along with variables, control flow, debugging, exception handling, logging, and UI, Excel and email automation. UiPath calls it the first step toward Advanced Automation Developer, Solution Architect or Automation Architect roles. Automation Developer Professional comes next. It tests complex builds in the Robotic Enterprise Framework.
Agentic Automation Associate (UiPath-AAAv1) suits technical and non-technical people who want to work with AI agents. It has no prerequisite. Business analysts and project managers should look at the Business Analyst track. Engineers working on document processing should look at Specialized AI. A certification shows you know UiPath's platform. It does not prove you can ship production automation, and nothing guarantees it gets you hired. In UiPath's own 2024 survey, 24% of respondents said certification helped them get a new job.
Cost, exam format and renewal
Associate exams cost US$150 and Professional exams cost US$300, plus local tax, for each attempt. You book through Pearson VUE and sit the exam at a test center or online through OnVUE. Exams are in English, and many are also offered in Japanese. Questions can be multiple choice, drag and drop, or simulations of Studio and Orchestrator. The Agentic Automation Associate exam runs 90 minutes and needs 70% to pass.
Since October 13, 2023, every UiPath Certified Professional credential has been valid for three years from the day you earn it. UiPath expects holders to recertify every three years. Vouchers expire 12 months after issue. Students and professors in the UiPath Academic Alliance may qualify for discount vouchers, and those expire after three months.
Retired exams you may still see on resumes
RPA Associate (UiRPA) and Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD) were retired on October 13, 2023, and replaced by the two Automation Developer credentials. UiPath recognized the old credentials only until October 2026, so they have now stopped counting. The legacy RPA Developer Advanced certification expired on June 30, 2021. Test Automation Engineer Professional ended on April 28, 2025, and was replaced by Software Testing Engineer Professional. UiPath listed the English version of that exam to retire on August 15, 2026, and it no longer appears on the current certification list.

USD a year, before tax. US figures from BLS OEWS May 2025 for software developers, moved to 2026 with the Employment Cost Index. This is the nearest series and covers the whole occupation, not UiPath or RPA specialists alone. Location, seniority and employer move the figure.
