Nuro is an American autonomous vehicle technology company developing Level 4 self-driving technology. It builds the Nuro Driver, a universal autonomy platform that it licenses to automakers and mobility providers to power vehicles such as robotaxis, logistics fleets, and personal vehicles. Founded by former Waymo engineers, Nuro initially developed custom autonomous delivery vehicles and was the first company to receive an autonomous vehicle exemption from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
